This transformation represents a significant step forward in how EORLA delivers diagnostic excellence, collaborates across teams and prepares for the future of precision medicine. Digital pathology will be seamless to those outside of the laboratory, yet transformative for those working within it.

Digital pathology will enhance EORLA’s ability to provide high-quality, timely and consistent pathology services. By digitizing microscopy images and enabling secure, high-resolution viewing, EORLA is improving workflow efficiency, expanding opportunities for consultation and collaboration, and creating a foundation for advanced analytics. Most importantly, this technology strengthens the organization’s ability to support patient care through faster turnaround times, improved access to expertise and providing the capacity to leverage future Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.

On March 29, 2026, several EORLA pathologists will lead the transition to digital pathology. Over the past two years, teams across the organization worked diligently to evaluate technologies, redesign workflows, validate systems, and ensure regulatory and quality standards were met. This journey required careful planning, testing, change management and continuous learning as EORLA now moves from traditional microscopy to a fully digital environment.

This accomplishment would not be possible without the dedication and collaboration of many individuals and teams across the region. EORLA extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed their expertise, time and commitment.

L’Association des laboratoires régionaux de l’Est de l’Ontario (ALREO/EORLA) est heureuse d’annoncer une étape marquante dans l’évolution de l’organisation — la prochaine transition vers la pathologie numérique.

Cette transformation représente un progrès significatif dans la manière dont ALREO offre l’excellence en matière de diagnostic, collabore avec les équipes et se prépare à l’avenir de la médecine de précision. La transition vers la pathologie numérique sera invisible pour ceux qui sont à l’extérieur du laboratoire, tout en étant profondément transformatrice pour les professionnels qui y travaillent.

La pathologie numérique renforcera la capacité d’ ALREO à offrir des services d’anatomopathologie de haute qualité, rapides et cohérents. En numérisant les images de microscopie et en permettant leur visualisation sécurisée en haute résolution, ALREO améliore l’efficacité des flux de travail, élargit les possibilités de consultation et de collaboration et établit les bases d’analyses avancées. Plus important encore, cette technologie renforce la capacité de l’organisation à assurer les soins aux patients grâce à des délais de traitement plus courts, un meilleur accès à l’expertise et la possibilité d’exploiter à l’avenir les technologies d’intelligence artificielle (IA).

Le 29 mars 2026, plusieurs pathologistes d’ ALREO mèneront la transition vers la pathologie numérique. Au cours des deux dernières années, des équipes de toute l’organisation ont travaillé avec diligence pour évaluer les technologies, repenser les flux de travail, valider les systèmes et s’assurer du respect des normes réglementaires et de qualité. Ce parcours a nécessité une planification rigoureuse, des phases de tests, une gestion du changement et un apprentissage continu, alors qu’ ALREO passe maintenant de la microscopie traditionnelle à un environnement entièrement numérique.
